Fresh New Face

So I've changed a few things on my blog recently. In case you didn't notice. 

Honest opinions, love it or hate it? Better than the last or no? Do you have any suggestions as to how I can improve my blog? If so, I'd love to hear them! 

In other news, I went hiking this weekend. It was pretty rad. 

(Yes I just used the word "rad.")

You Know I'm a Writer By...

My rough drafts. Gosh, they're a mess. But sometimes, out of that heap of chicken scratch, comes a masterpiece.

The pencils which are constantly behind my ear, lost in my hair, in my coat pocket.

The way I watch people. I stand close enough to listen, but far enough to observe. (Like a total creep.)

My purse. Inside it you'll always discover post it notes I've written to myself, a little notebook, and at least 5 different pens/pencils.

The way I personify others. As soon as I see someone, they are immediately given a story. I'm sure most, if not all, of my scenarios are inaccurate but, in my mind, that's who these people become. 

The thoughts bouncing around inside my head. I'm constantly forming a song, a poem, a story, or even a blog post. Truth of the matter is, there are too many. And most of them never make it past a few half-formed sentences.

The books I choose to read. If it's a classic, I want to read it. Afterward I'll give you my honest opinion on whether it deserves all the fuss. (Wuthering Heights? Definitely does not. It's written well but I can't stand how shallow the characters are. Jane Eyre, on the other hand, will forever be one of my favorite reads.)

Do You Follow?

So at least once a week I have people tell me that they love reading my blogs. I love this! It totally makes my day!! Often, though, they say that they don't know how to become a "follower." So, for all of you wonderful readers out there, I found this post by casey leigh. (Seriously, she's super cute.) I thought it was perfect! Look at this picture of her son. Really, could she make it any more adorable?

*This post is for people who read their favorite blogs daily via facebook, twitter, other people's "blog rolls" or maybe just look them up daily but aren't actually following.

I have had a lot of people tell me that they like reading my blog or a certain blog but don't know how to "follow" or maybe are unsure of what "following" a blog is. So here ya go...

What is Following?

If you have a favorite blog and want to let the author and readers know that you are a fan... you can do that by "following" their blog. 

I think it is a nice way to say we "support" you and what you have to say! 

You do not need to have a blog to follow one. So following isn't just for bloggers, it's also designed to make it easier for readers to keep tabs on their favorite blogs.

Also, you can choose to follow publicly or privately.

So select how you'd like to follow the blog, then click the "Follow this blog" button.

It is that simple, you are now a follower of the blog! If you elected to follow the blog publicly, your profile picture will be displayed on the blog with a link to your Blogger profile.

That's it :). Just a little fyi !

If you have a number of blogs you enjoy, go follow them...it will mean a lot to those writing them, a good way to send support their way.

Also, if you follow a blog that you think others would benefit from, you should post about it...share the love. Even if you don't know the author personally, and possibly have never even commented on their blog before....you never know who you will be blessing/ helping

So apparently some people weren't too fond of my last post and that's okay. But in response to this I wrote another post...on my other blog. So if you're curious as to what I have to say, which you may not be and that's totally fine, read it. You may have already read it and if that's the case you can either, a) not worry about it or b) read it again. Sorry I've been a bit of a slacker recently. Once I have something profound to say, because you know I always have something to say, I'll get on that. Hmm...maybe I'll just put some of my newest poem attempts on here. We'll see. I probably will. Well I don't have much to say at the moment and I should probably do my Spanish homework before class actually starts so I will be having a one-sided conversation with you at a later date and have a GREAT day!!! =D

Too Much For One

So I've been thinking...I am way too opinionated to have just one blog. My other blog is all about how I am waiting for my missionary and my life during these two years without him. However, I have discovered that I love blogging! I have so much to say and share and it doesn't all fit into the theme of a missionary girlfriend. Even if no one reads this one, I don't care. I love writing. I love putting my thoughts into words and onto paper, or in this case into cyberspace. So that's what this blog is for, my thoughts and opinions.

It will be random. It will be biased. It will be 100% what I think and how I feel and that will change quite often. This I guarantee. So sit back, relax, and enjoy (or don't, that's fine too) what I have to say.
